Call For Speakers

Much of the world has had restrictions or was in lockdown for some time since March, 2020. Our main goal for the PDD is to help our project professional community strengthen core skills to be able to tackle the challenges in todays and tomorrow’s virtual world.

We are seeking speakers to participate in our Professional Development Day.  We are expecting 200+ attendees including members of PMINYC, along with attendees from other PMI chapters, associations, educational institutions, and corporations who wish to enhance their knowledge about the field of professional project management.

The event will consist of 1 full day virtual session on December 3, 2021.  Proposed session time slots and the conference agenda will be finalized once all speakers are selected.

Topics and Presentation Guidelines

We are seeking presentations related to the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the Project Management profession in a virtual and post-pandemic world.  We are aspiring to attract high-quality speakers who are both informative and engaging with presentations related to the focused theme and topics, such as:

  • Strengthening PM Skills in a Virtual World with Digital Tools
  • Managing People / Teams / Stakeholders in a Virtual Environment
  • Project Management in an Era of Digital Transformation.

The suggested timeline for each presentation is 30 or 45 minutes, followed by a 10-15 minute Q&A session. Presentations can be case studies, interactive sessions, or sessions discussing tools and techniques related to Project Management and tied to this year’s theme. All presentation types are encouraged and will be considered. Submissions that best meet the below review criteria (in the opinion of the committee) will be selected for inclusion:

  • Appropriateness of the presentation to the PDD Theme and / or Topic
  • Educational value
  • Speaker references
  • Accommodation of the PMINYC Virtual presentation format / technical requirements
  • Alignment with PMINYC chapter needs

We expect to include a group panel discussion at the end of the day with all speakers to close our session. Panel participation is not a requirement, but we encourage you to participate and thus impart additional knowledge and collaboration with the other speakers and attendees.

If you are interested in presenting at our conference, please complete and submit the Speaker Participation Form. Please provide your submission by May 14, 2021. We expect to complete the evaluation of speaker submissions by late June and notify all submitters shortly thereafter.
