April Chapter Meeting: "Project Managing a Project Management Career"

People seek to change careers for many different reasons.  Your career goals or values may have changed you.  You may have discovered new interests that you would like to incorporate into your job.  Something in your industry may be forcing you to look into different directions.

Whatever the reasons may be, once you know you would like to do something different... how do you get there?  What skill sets do you need to get there?

Harumi Urata-Thompson will share how an investment banker came about to shoot for the stars – literally speaking! - and how her journey may translate to yours.

About the Speaker:

Harumi Urata-Thompson is a Founder and CEO of HUT Consulting and Celestialdata.  She specializes in leading and advising companies on taking innovative paths to achieve strategic, operational and marketing success in their businesses.  She serves on the board of directors of several companies and speaks on topics including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Cybersecurity, Outerspace, Cross-border Business, and Diversity & Inclusion.  Prior to starting HUT Consulting, Harumi was the Chief Operating Officer for CFA Society New York (previously New York Society of Security Analysts), a nonprofit affiliate of the CFA Institute with 10,000 financial professionals.  Before CFA Society New York, Harumi spent 14 years at Thomson Reuters. Harumi began her career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, working in fixed income sales and mergers & acquisitions.  Harumi has an MBA from INSEAD in France and a BA, magna cum laude, in business from Sophia University in Japan.
