PMINYC President's Message 2017

Stephen Nosal

Welcome to 2017, I’m looking forward to a great year of fun and professional growth with all of you and hope to meet many of you at our events this year.

PMINYC is a member organization and our mission is to help you with your professional growth and promote the profession of project management. We continue to explore new opportunities, to seek out new speakers and new ideas. We will continue our efforts to better understand what our members want and need to grow in our chosen profession, so please participate in our surveys and feel free to send us your ideas.

I’m looking forward to some great new speakers this year, starting with our Annual meeting on January 18th, a bigger and more dynamic Symposium, and another great summer networking cruise. Look for upcoming news on all of these events on our website and in our newsletter.

We are working hard to improve our website and social channels to make it easier for you to participate in the chapter, keep up to date, and provide feedback on your ideas and needs. We look to provide additional opportunities to network, connect and increase your professional networks.

2017 brings us two new board members, Karen Fox, President-Elect, and Frank Bacchus, VP Symposia. Holly Ripley wrapped up a great year as President and continues on as Immediate Past President, a key advisory role. I’d like to thank Frank Saladis, former Immediate Past President and Richard Phelan, former VP Symposia for their selfless service. Both Frank and Rich have served the Chapter in many roles and functions, and I’m sure they will still be helping out in the future.

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve you, feel free to contact me with your ideas and thoughts on the chapter and profession, and remember, try to have some fun.

Mentoring at PMINYC

“I believe I have greatly benefited from this program. I have been both a mentee and a mentor.

I have learnt a great deal from my mentor and mentee from a personal growth and professional development perspective. Those conversations have helped me think through my next career move.  We have together worked through many challenges.” - Bishan, Mentoring Program participant
