Vision Statement

My vision for PMINYC is to magnify the work and value that we can offer to the professionals in the NYC area.  This will be done by working to gain Chapter sponsors to ensure that we have a steady stream of funds in the chapter to provide services to both our sponsors and members. I will work tirelessly to develop partnerships, sponsorships, and relationships with the various departments at PMINYC (especially the communications and operations departments), and other chapters (especially Western Michigan), who have displayed a great deal of success with their initiatives.  Additionally, my vision together with that of my team is to work closely with local businesses, and educational institutions (especially Pace University, Fordham University, et cetera) to develop PMINYC's Chapter Marketing Plan, which are but not limited to:

  • Enhance and maintain the chapter's reputation for leadership and excellence in project management by building relationships with organizations who currently provide sponsorship or who be potential sponsors.
  • Support the Programs and Mission of PMINYC
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and sponsorships with the chapter to benefit our members
  • Communication with BOD and Leadership
  • Provide regular updates to BOD

I am best qualified for the position because I have been employed in the marketing capacity for over ten years, and I have had many positive successful outcomes on various projects throughout the years. Marketing is about creating and maintain relationships with partners, end users, etc; it is my day-to-day function and I have the grit necessary to ensure that PMINYC is magnified throughout the NYC region. I am a disciplined, dedicated and conscientious individual, who strives to be the best that I can be on a daily basis. My drive and compassion for the marketing profession will set me apart from the other candidates.

Vice President of Membership

Jennifer Ruda, PMP, CSM

Biography

Like many project managers, I came to the profession via taking notes in meetings and handling projects before I even knew what a PMP was. I earned a certificate in project management, took the exam, took on more projects at work, and ultimately ran my own business. Now I work with a small IT startup and am steeped in the culture of scrappy entrepreneurship.

I have volunteered with Mentoring to help members grow professionally since 2015. As an Assistant Program Manager in 2016, I helped us to grow from three participants to 34 pairs using a combination of marketing and communicating directly with our membership. Team Mentoring worked with the Career Development Network to pilot initiatives based on member feedback, jointly creating events centered on job search such as an interview workshop and LinkedIn branding. This marked the first time Membership had reached across the aisle to partner with Programs.

Vision Statement

As a candidate for VP of Membership, my vision for PMINYC is to better serve a membership interested in professional growth and development. In our 100% volunteer-run organization, the VP of Membership is responsible for two main goals. The first is caring for the backbone of the chapter, our members, by supporting initiatives designed to add value via Study Groups, Member Experience, Mentoring, and exploring other programs to meet your needs. The second is supporting our Volunteers who make all PMINYC programs happen, from the Program Team Members to Members of the Board of Directors.

I believe continuing to work together with all branches of chapter leadership is the best way to align our chapter's mission of professional development with your interests at the forefront. I look forward to growing within the Membership team and Board to ensure we are all on a path of continuous improvement.
