PMINYC Board Nominations & Election

Election 2018 Positions

The chapter will open nominations for the following positions:

 

All terms begin January 1, 2019, and are two years in duration.

If you are interested in nominating yourself or a fellow PMINYC member for one of the positions, please review the applicable role description by clicking on each position above.

If you have questions about a position that are not answered in the role description, the Nominations & Elections Committee encourages you to contact the incumbent.

Eligibility Requirements

Please be aware that campaigning or endorsements are strictly forbidden. PMI Component Policies and our Component Agreement between PMI and PMINYC state the following:

In accordance with PMI® policies, practices, procedures, rules and directives, no funds or resources of PMI® or the PMINYC CHAPTER may be used to support the election of any candidate or group of candidates for PMI®, PMINYC CHAPTER or public office. No other type of organized electioneering, communications, fund-raising or other organized activity on behalf of a candidate shall be permitted.

The PMINYC CHAPTER Nominations & Elections Committee, or other applicable body designated by the PMINYC CHAPTER, will be the sole elicitor(s) and distributor(s) of all election materials for PMINYC CHAPTER elected positions. In accordance with PMI® rules, if a PMINYC CHAPTER member individually approaches a candidate, then the candidate may engage in a one-on-one conversation with that member.

Qualifications for PMINYC Officer Positions

To hold office as an elected officer on the Chapter’s Board of Directors, an individual must meet the broad requirements as governed by Article IV Section 1 G of the Chapter Bylaws (click here to review the Bylaws).

Only members in good standing of PMI® and of the PMINYC CHAPTER shall (a.) be eligible to vote, (b.)  be eligible to hold office at the PMINYC CHAPTER, and (c.) be eligible to serve in any volunteer capacity at the PMINYC CHAPTER.

"Members in Good Standing" shall be defined as PMINYC CHAPTER Members who:

  1. have paid both PMI® and PMINYC CHAPTER dues, and 
  2. do not have any ethics violations reported against them, investigated, proven and adjudicated within the past 6 years, and
  3. have not been removed, for cause, from their position while serving in any capacity with PMI® or the PMINYC CHAPTER within the past 6 years.

 

How to Apply

Contribute to your profession, expand your network, and - if you are a PMP,  PgMP,  PfMP,  PMI-ACP, PMI-RP or PMI-SP - earn valuable PDUs for recertification as well. In 2018, members of the PMI New York Chapter will elect FOUR fellow members to serve as Officers of the PMINYC Board starting in 2019.

Nomination Procedure

Members can submit nominations for themselves or another member. (PLEASE inform those whom you nominate.) Please review the eligibility requirements and job profiles before submitting a nomination. To be considered for nomination or to nominate someone to ONE of the FOUR positions that are up for election, please email the requested information below to the Nominations and Elections Committee at elections@pminyc.org

Be sure to vote!

Sign in to https://my.pmi.org/profile/personal  and ensure that your email address is up to date.  Your profile email address will apply for all communications regarding the election, including distribution of electronic ballots and auditing of election results.  It is crucial! 

You can expect nominations for the PMINYC Board to occur during the summer with the election scheduled to run until mid-September 2018. The Board will announce the specific dates.
